THE HISTORY OF TORRY U.F. (FULL VERSION PAGE 4)
He left Torry in 1988 and two years later Rev. Ian Lloyd was inducted to the charge.
Mr. Lloyd teaches systematically from the word of God each week, and is very much involved with children’s work. He runs an S.U. group for P7 in Walker Road School, and holds assemblies in both Walker Road Primary School and Torry Academy. He speaks at the Lunch Club, which is held in the church hall every second week, to those who have gathered from the community for a meal.
At the start of Mr. Lloyd’s ministry, Billy Graham held a crusade in Aberdeen and members of the church were involved in the choir and counselling. Outreach into the neighbourhood continues, with people being contacted for special events. Children’s’ meetings have been held before the start of term to encourage them to attend Sunday School or church. Meals have
The ladies of the church meet for banner making, knitting for the orphans in Botswana and for fellowship. Also on Tuesday afternoons, the Women’s Association meet, when guest speakers bring the word of God in varied ways.
During Mr. Lloyd’s ministry, Mr. Alexander Ritchie decided to go into the ministry and is now the Rev. Alexander Ritchie at Lossiemouth UF .
